The Capper
Get
everything you need to know about every race in America in
one program: THE CAPPER.
CONTROL THE INFORMATION.
Information everywhere. The modern handicapper is drowning
in it. Open the Form there are thousands of bits of
information on each page. And yesterday's newspaper is
tomorrow's birdcage liner. THE CAPPER presents all this data
 past performances, charts, race reports,
trainer/jockey/pedigree stats, general reports in an
elegant and easy-to-use format suitable for the information
age.
KNOW WHAT'S WINNING IN EACH RACE YOU FACE.
Every handicapper wants an edge. That edge no longer comes
from the amount of data you have. It now largely comes from
knowing what info is important in THIS race. THE CAPPER
tracks the success of 18 predictors encompassing speed,
pace, class, energy, trainer, jockey, current form,
pedigree, post position bias, running style bias, and more.
Only those predictors that perform statistically better than
they should in each situation are used the rest are
ignored. You'll find that, in some situations, early speed
is king. In others, all you need is a good pedigree and a
decent speed figure.
HAVE IT YOUR WAY:
THE IN-DEPTH HANDICAPPER'S TOOL.
If you want all the information, but want to massage it and
get your own insights from it, THE CAPPER was designed for
you. Dig into the past performances, choose contenders, pick
pacelines, check out the statistics, hunt for nuances,
generate a betting line, bet the overlays.
HAVE IT YOUR WAY:
THE LAZY MAN'S HANDICAPPING TOOL.
If (like me) you just want the betting line, or some other
report, THE CAPPER was designed for you. Select your races,
click a button, and your chosen Race Reports are
automatically handicapped and printed out.
HAVE IT YOUR WAY:
THE PAPER-AND-PENCIL HANDICAPPER'S TOOL.
If you like to handicap the old-fashioned way, with a pencil
and the pps, THE CAPPER was designed for you. Save a fortune
on printed past performances. The Capper contains a modern
past performance generator, which prints out pps in a format
similar to that which we're all used to. And you'll have
access to every thoroughbred track running in North America,
not just the few local and simulcast tracks you get in your
local edition.
KNOW THE MINIMUM ODDS YOU'LL ACCEPT.
When you buy a mutuel ticket, you're buying a chance at a
payoff. Only by betting overlays, horses going off at odds
higher than they should be, can you make a profit in the
long run. THE CAPPER's Betting Line points you straight to
those overlays. But here's the catch: at some tracks,
overlays are consistently profitable. At others, horses
rarely win unless they're getting heavy toteboard action. At
others, nothing seems to consistently predict the winners
except tea leaves and astrology. It's essential that you
know which tracks are profitable, and in what way, before
you jump in. THE CAPPER's Top Five Win% and ROI report
breaks down each track that you play, so you can kill
(financially speaking), not be killed.
GET GREAT TRAINER, JOCKEY AND PEDIGREE STATS.
Get access to statistics for every horse without having to
look them up in a booklet. With only a click, you can view
trainer, jockey, trainer/jockey and pedigree stats for each
horse. Even hard-to-find dam statistics are included.
ONE FREE CUSTOM
SPOT PLAY WITH PURCHASE.
With your purchase, we're now offering a custom-programmed
spot play of your design. You design a spot play of your
choice which targets a certain type of horse in a certain
type of race. You can include up to seven total conditions.
See the Spot Play Designer
for more information and a form to explain your spot play.
(If it's feasible programming-wise
and within the seven-condition limit, then
we'll have a hack at it.
There is sometimes some give-and-take
until we nail down definite programmable rules for your spot
play.) Integrated into THE CAPPER, you'll also
get a report which continually tracks your spot play and
analyzes it by breaking it down into a bunch of
subcategories with statistics such as win% and ROI for each
subcategory.
Note: THE CAPPER uses HDW race data, which costs $100 per
calendar month for unlimited downloading. You must call HDW

charged monthly. Data costs are not refundable once any
files have been downloaded during a month.
